Come June 10th, and we will be back at Lifepro Fitness Club, Panchavati, Pashan – setting up and running the 13th Pashan edition of The CoCo Market. A year has gone by, and the very first market in June 2017 is still so fresh and distinct in our memory. When Tanya and I started the market last year, we spent days brainstorming and reaching out to farmers, producers and growers, trying to tell them what we had in mind with our monthly market and trying to get them on board. Was it good karma or pure coincidence that we found so many like minded people…more

The work there always interested me, but what was the biggest highlight of it all was the opportunity to travel, specifically to Europe – a place that I find connects to my soul. I had spent many days dreaming of a trip back to Europe, and had dreamt of all the different ways I would like to add to my food…more

We must have discussed the idea a couple of times – driving down to Goa for a hands on course on the art of sourdough bread from the very entertaining Sujit Sumitran. We also though this would be a great experience to look up on Rosie and Peter, and see for ourselves if the beautiful pictures they put up on their Instagram feed do any justice to the food forest they have created around their home. Fortunately, it didn’t take long for this idle idea to turn to reality, and we found ourselves tripping towards Goa in my reliable Skoda Fabia (which I absolutely love,…more

Its strange how things change within what seems to be a very short time. Lifestyles and food habits seem to have gone topsy turvy in our very own life time – blame it on political decisions, economic influences, consumerism or whatever else you wish to blame it on, but I still cannot understand the tipping point when common sense and simple habits went out of the window for concrete, urban choices. Perhaps I grew up in a home a little out of the ordinary – in a government bungalow surrounded by wild, free growing nature. I spent days bird watching, climbing trees and playing in…more
